It could ask specific questions instead of vague ones.

The company may promote authenticity.

Fans may imagine deeper boxing.

The final design may prioritize standardized competitive gameplay.

Simulation systems may remain limited.

Offline options may remain secondary.

Requested features may be explained away as too complicated, too niche, too difficult to balance, or outside the official vision.

That is why the discussion about sliders and surveys matters now.

This is not merely a request for extra settings.

It is a test of whether Steel City Interactive is willing to reconsider who the game is for.

A practical solution would be to build three clearly defined gameplay lanes.

The casual lane could provide accessible controls, forgiving stamina, simplified defensive systems, stronger punch assistance, faster action, easier recovery, and reduced punishment for mistakes.

Hybrid

The hybrid lane could combine recognizable boxing tactics with competitive responsiveness, standardized values, moderate realism, and carefully tuned online balance.

Simulation

The simulation lane could emphasize boxer identity, realistic stamina, tactical pacing, severe consequences, advanced defensive systems, deeper clinching, inside fighting, referee behavior, judging variation, injury accumulation, and extensive sliders.

Ranked online play could use locked hybrid or competitive settings.

Unranked online play could allow custom contracts.

Offline modes could provide complete customization.

Career mode could include preset realism levels.

Simulation leagues could create their own rules.

Casual players would not be forced into complexity.

Simulation players would not be forced into simplification.

Competitive players would still receive standardized matchmaking.

This is not an impossible concept. It is a design structure.

What Does Steel City Interactive Actually Lose?

What does the company lose by offering more options?

No outsider can state with certainty that Steel City Interactive is afraid of a third-party survey unless the company openly says so.

However, continued resistance to independent public feedback can create that appearance.

When a company says it understands the audience but does not support transparent measurement, people begin to question its confidence.

When it emphasizes community feedback but avoids publicly testable questions, people begin to question what kind of feedback it values.

When it promotes authenticity but resists features that increase simulation depth, people begin to question how the company defines authenticity.

The debate over sliders represents something much larger.

It represents whether Steel City Interactive is building a boxing platform with room to grow or another restricted fighting game with boxing presentation.

Fans are not asking the company to abandon accessibility.

They are asking it to stop using accessibility as a reason to limit depth.

They are not asking the company to destroy competitive play.

They are asking it to stop using competitive balance as a reason to standardize boxing.

They are not asking every player to become a simulation enthusiast.

They are asking for options so that different audiences can coexist.

Final Thoughts

Steel City Interactive has an opportunity to change the conversation.

It can stop treating realism, accessibility, offline play, online competition, sliders, and customization as opposing forces.

It can create structured gameplay lanes.

It can establish locked ranked settings.

It can give offline players deep control.

It can restore or develop important boxing mechanics.

It can support a transparent third-party survey.

Players will not agree on everything.

However, reliable public information can reveal where the audience stands, where the divisions exist, and where options could solve unnecessary conflict.

If Steel City Interactive believes its current philosophy reflects what boxing videogame players truly want, it should have nothing to fear from independent results.

If those results reveal something different, the company should not fear that either.

It should learn from it.

Stubbornness may preserve a design philosophy, but flexibility could preserve the franchise.

I’m not spending this show repeating the same conversations about career mode, Creation Suite slots, online versus offline, competitive balance, roster size, or whether a boxing videogame should be realistic.

Those conversations matter, but tonight we need to go behind all of them.

We need to ask a question that almost nobody asks:

Who inside a game-development studio is actually responsible for protecting the truth of boxing?

Not who likes boxing.

Not who watched boxing growing up.

Not who met a professional boxer.

Not who invited a boxer into the motion-capture studio.

Not who placed boxing posters around the office.

I am asking who has the authority, knowledge, responsibility, and production power to say:

“This does not represent boxing correctly, and it cannot move forward in its current form.”

Who can stop an inaccurate animation?

Who can reject an unrealistic gameplay rule?

Who can explain why a movement system may look smooth but fails tactically?

Who can determine whether boxer behavior is based on actual identity or merely ratings underneath a generic animation package?

Who can tell the producer, engineer, animator, publisher, marketing department, and executive team that a decision may be convenient for development—but wrong for boxing?

That is tonight’s discussion.

Because a boxing videogame does not become authentic merely because people involved with it claim to love boxing.

It becomes authentic when the studio builds an internal structure that protects boxing from being watered down during production.

Tonight’s subject is:

And the central position inside that department should be something I call the:

Let’s get into it.


SEGMENT ONE: THE REAL PROBLEM MAY BE ORGANIZATIONAL

The industry often describes realistic boxing as a technology problem.

We hear that footwork is difficult.

Punch interactions are difficult.

Clinch positioning is difficult.

Body geometry is difficult.

Artificial intelligence is difficult.

Different heights, reaches, stances, body types, rhythms, and boxing styles are difficult.

Of course they are difficult.

Building any sophisticated simulation is difficult.

But difficulty does not automatically mean impossibility.

Sometimes the deeper problem is not that the technology cannot do it.

The deeper problem is that nobody inside the organization has complete ownership of the boxing result.

Think about a normal development structure.

The animation team owns animation production.

The engineering team owns technical implementation.

The gameplay designers own controls, responsiveness, rules, and balancing.

The artificial-intelligence team owns computer-controlled behavior.

The producers own schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.

The marketing team owns presentation and public messaging.

The executives control the larger business direction.

But who owns boxing?

Those questions force the conversation away from vague statements and toward measurable development decisions.

The Bottom Line

It would be inaccurate to say that realistic boxing is effortless. Authentic footwork, weight transfer, collision response, boxer individuality, defensive positioning and networked interaction are demanding systems.

However, it is equally inaccurate to present those challenges as proof that realistic boxing is unattainable.

The technology exists.

The design concepts exist.

The reference material exists.

The animation and physics tools exist.

The missing ingredient is often not possibility. It is commitment: commitment to the correct architecture, qualified personnel, sufficient development time, meaningful boxing expertise and a willingness to prioritize authentic boxing over conventional fighting-game shortcuts.

Stop telling boxing fans that realism is impossible merely because it requires serious work.

That is what developing a serious boxing game is supposed to require.
